per the Journal Courier:

As we start the week, 10 questions about the Boilermakers and Saturday's matchup at Minnesota:

• Can Purdue slow down Minnesota's rushing attack? In the two Big Ten losses, the Boilermakers have allowed 175 and 294 yards, respectively, to Iowa and Michigan State. In the win at Illinois, Purdue gave up 65 yards. The Gophers are averaging 163.5 on the ground in two conference games.

• Will Minnesota running back David Cobb come off the field? His 161 touches ranks first among Big Ten players and he's produced 10 runs of 10 yards or more against Big Ten teams.

Go Gophers!!

Wow! 15.5 point underdogs. Were we favored that much even in the non conference games? Seems like unfamiliar territory. We gotta play well to win...we are not an offensive machine just yet.

I wonder how bad the Illinois line will be.

My yahoo app shows us as 13 point favorites. Seems more appropriate.

If we get off to a good start and lead, I rotate RB's as much as possible this week and next week. Might be the last opportunity to get some snaps for the other backs and Cobb less touches. However, it would be cool to see Cobb have huge games the next couple weeks.

We have to control the ball and give our defense some rest also.

Purdue might be able to move the ball but they can't stop anybody. MSU was running through some pretty big holes.

Huh? Against Minnesota?

Illinois has put up points on almost everyone they've played, they'll have two weeks to prepare for the Gophers and get HEALTHY, and they're playing at HOME.

Barring a 35-pt win against the Boilers, I'd be surprised if the Gophers are even double digit faves AT Illinois.

I get the manage expectations shtick but Illinois is a bad football team. They are last in the Big Ten in both scoring defense and total defense.

They lost their starting QB for the month. The starter last weekend was benched for a freshman making his first start.

Barring total disaster we win going away. If we don't...we are undeserving of the Big Ten West title and see you next year.

It's pretty well known that if Purdue is bad, then Illinois is a JV high school team. I didn't think I was making s revolutionary statement.

So we're playing on the road at Illinois, does that mean there will be 7 to 8 people making noise?

Guys, we beat NW at home by a touchdown. One play and the outcome could be different. Hopefully the players aren't getting as carried away as we are.
