6 PM vs Ohio St on BTN.

At least the ladies have some heart.
 



We went 2-0 vs tOSU regular season, it is tough to go 3-0, but let's do it LadyGophers!!!
 

I haven't been following women's BT, but I'm a little surprised at how bad Ohio State's record is.
 


Nobody but Rachel Banham and Micaella Riche should even think about shooting...

That's how awful the rest of the team looks. Banham is 4-5 from three with 14 points at half gophers up 25-24 but OSU went on an 8-0 run to finish the half.

But prior to that, we went on a 13-3 run to take the lead. Basketball is a game of runs.

Mullaney has the most shot attempts and the worst looking shot :(
 



I've seen more missed WIDE OPEN layups by the gophers tonight than I'd see in an entire season out of a men's team. It's just embarrassing. Nothing worse than a missed wide open layup. It's almost comical. If you can't make a wide open layup you certainly don't deserve a scholarship worth almost 100 grand.
 

This game is a microcosm of the season - so up and down.

Three missed layups so far. Geez!
 

Very dissapointing to see how awful the ladies have performed tonight. Really didnt come with the fire or good decision making, along with poor poor execution, and even worse rebounding.

They played so well in the later portion of the season. Their tournament hopes are dashed now though, and I can't really say next season looks any different unless Zahui B has a freshman of the year type season.

Still enjoyed watching Banham and Riche improve this season! See ya next year ladies, maybe you'll come back better prepared. I don't see a tournament season next year though.
 

The second half has been ugly. 4 straight years with no NCAA appearances. Nice work on that extension, Joel.
 



They've two players. Who knows how good next years class is. If the Swedish gal had any ability she would have played the B1G season Hopefully, Pam will make an exit in 3 years. I don't think Woody will dump her until the contract runs out. Both her and Tubby have sucked the air out of Gopher basketball. If I were a season ticket holder I would question kicking out the bucks for either program at this time.
 

Borton had one of the most baffling quotes I've ever seen in yesterday's Strib. After finishing 7-9 in the Big Ten (with the #8 seed) and probably needing 2 wins to even get a sniff of the NCAA, she came up with,

"I think we're in a great situation," Borton said.

Can you say delusional?

If I had Banham's talents and playing in the NCAA Tournament was important to me, I'd think long and hard about transferring to one of the power schools. I'm guessing a UConn, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Baylor, etc., would take her in a heartbeat. Iowa State's a pretty strong program, too, if she decided to go the "closer to home" route.
 


Agree, you have to feel bad for Banham. Last night she got that WTF look on her face a couple times like " Hey, can I get some help here"? Borton has had the same hair do and has worn the same ratty black pant suit since she has been here. You can't expect her to change her coaching habits. The second half was a good example. She had no answer for the hard switches on Banham.

You're paying a lot closer attention than I am.:rolleyes:
 

Isn't her partner a some sort of high ranking official at the U? I don't think she's going anywhere, although she should.
