Anyone have any insight into whether the holding penalty on Kuznia in the 3rd Q, Gray's run to the 5, was a garbage call? BTN (of course) had not camera on the play. If that isn't call isn't made, this game is likely a blowout.

Looked legit. Kuznia executed a takedown.

That play made me excited for Gray to keep developing. I do think that he'll be a good QB for us someday.

BTN did a horrible job of replaying penalties today - since the Gopher penalties were rarely "obvious", it was necessary to see the replay to see the call - yet BTN wouldn't replay the non-personal foul penalties. That along with Wayne Larrivee's awful announcing today (usually he's not that bad!) made it a so-so broadcast - the scenery was great by the BTN - showing the fans, stadium, and costumes, which kind of made up for the lack of other "necessities".

From the stadium replay -

A) It definitely was holding

B) It looked like Gray might have gotten by the guy even if he hadn't held so he made a bad decision

The BTN was just awful last night. How many times did they fail to get back from commercial break before play had resumed?

I've seen less called and more blatant incidents not called, so it's a bit in the gray for me. He did extend his arm though and that's basically asking for it to be called.

Too bad. I agree if we get seven there, we put this thing away earlier.

Gray actually scored on the play I believe!

Not sure...the player might have tackled him. Regardless it put the Gophers an extra 10 yards back rather then whatever gain. That to go along with a couple more penalties took great field position and blew it for them that drive.

The BTN replay only showed the very last second of the Kuznia block. The same block is made on every running play by WR's but his time the MSU player fell down after he was pushed by Kuznia. That was the text-book way to block on a running play by the WR. Get in front of the DB and push him past the play. I was at the game and it looked like a good play and the replay on my DVR only shows the DB falling to the ground after Kusnia's push.

He was out of bounds at the 2. The ref waved his arm to stop the clock.

And the call was legit. The end of the block (most of what the BTN replay showed) was fine but Kuznia held to get in position to pancake him.

I think the player was turning as the play was going by him, so the push cause him to fall easily with kuznia on top. Looked like a takedown, I'm not sure it was. But I see that situation get called most times.

On the replay, it looked like Gray extended the ball over the goal line before he stepped out of bounds. It was close, but if he didn't score the spot should have been closer to the goal line than 2 yards. Anyway it was for naught. I certainly wish the BTN would have shown another angle on the Kuznia holding call. Even though it was called back, it does show Gray's tremendous playmaking capability.

Legit call. If as a receiver you aren't driving the defender, then you need to let go when he backpedals. Kuz held on as the defender tried to retreat.
