Thank you to Chris Monter, for his recruiting vignettes. I enjoy his interviews with visiting recruits and of those that have already committed to the Gophers.

Also, a shout out to BleedGopher and et al, for providing interesting links, which often lead to interesting commentary.

Hopefully, Gopher Lady will once again provide some intersting interviews as well. Must be somewhat difficult, however, balancing school work, employment, etc. and then make sports-related contributions to GopherHole.

In anycase, thanks to GopherHole and the varied discussions of this site. Lurkers, join the fun.

Yep, this is a great forum. In addition to everything DL65 said, I think it is far more visually appealling than most message boards.

The addition of Chris Monter's work, and the fringebowl stuff, and Mr. Phil Miller, have really made a difference. All the right things, now if we could unbury them from the angst and mangina whining we could enjoy them all as much as they deserve to be enjoyed.

This is a very well constructed and run forum.

Not much knowledge about other college sites, other than the odd trip due to a link, but comparing with forums in other sports (cricket & soccer) this is way above "average" (had to throw it in -- it seems like the last happy posts here).

To give examples on construction:

It is really a pain to read a post with all previous posts tabbed on, fortunately it is not the case here. The buckyville site seems to relish this.

The color scheme is well done. Most other sites are either a bland theme or over loaded with the school colors, but this might be due to my maroon glasses.

As a site dependent on donation and advertisement, I am happy it has not linked up with aggressive promoters. Some other sports sites have pop ups for marriage/dating sites and worse for single girls links, which is a pain if my kids are around.

Well written and nice to have the recruiting stuff.

Overall:

My opinion, I think a site like this acts as a point for us to go to FBT and the other gopher sites. As some one who has not seen a gopher's game live for 19 years and only this year been able to see the games on internet feeds; I feel I am up to date on my alma mater's teams.

...hmm better mail my donation in. Now back to lurking.
