per KSTP:

Gophers coach Richard Pitino led a Guinness record for the world's largest basketball lesson Monday afternoon at Land O' Lakes in Arden Hills.

In partnership with the United Way, 339 Land O' Lakes employees were put through drills by Pitino and his staff.

KSTP's Darren Wolfson caught up with Pitino following the record-breaking 30 minute clinic:

Go Gophers!!

Coach P wants to see improvement on D. I agree. Not to rant on any players, but King, Andre and Mo need to step up and their replacements need to have better D play potential. it all takes time.

Better D without fouling.

Hey coach. Wanna know who else is really, really excited for this year??

Is anyone else confused as to how 339 people can be a Guiness Book of World Record for a "basketball lesson"? When they first announced this, I was thinking they must be expecting 10,000 people or something like that. Seems like a few hundred people would be a typical summer camp attendance.

Look Wiseguy - We can question coach Pitino's coaching style, dedication to the state of Minnesota, play-calling, player development, recruiting and other things program related.

But we don't question his Guiness Book of World Record attempts. Got it?

As long as we keep buttering up Land O Lakes, I'm fine with calling it a record.

Think how much better the worled would be if we didn't have the Guiness Book of World Records.
