Krzyzewski: Rodney Williams is 'an elite athlete'

Couldn't be happier to see how much Rodney's improved and is getting the respect he deserves. He's really been consistent since he broke out at the end last year. His jumpshot has really looked solid and he's more decisive going to the basket. His blocks were absolutely insane today. If he keeps this up there's no way he doesn't get drafted.

Rodney is not only skilled but plays with great heart. He is clearly the leader of this team.

Watching the development of Rodney Williams over these years exemplifies the reason I have season tickets. It was great to see him get his moments yesterday, and hit his free throws. I suppose it may still be fun to watch a team of one-and-dones, but seeing Rodney grow up and blossom into an all-around player - really fun!

I agree that Williams has turned into a very good all around player, and is fun to watch. Hopefully he gets a chance at the next level....

Rodney is playing great and leading well. 16pts 7 reb are solid numbers. I really feel that against Kelly he should have put up 20 shots and scored more like 25 if we were to win. But it doesnt seem like Tubby likes to encourage one guy to get their points. If you look at all the matchups this was the hard one for duke. They will take 16 and 7 in this one and know they will win.

Preach.

I would have season tickets if I lived in the cities, and this is exactly why I'm a Gopher Fan and not an elite program fan (also the fact I went to the U doesn't hurt either).

I fall in love with players and always think they are better than they are and cant wait for them to blossom into what I know they can be!

My feelings exactly. Can't wait for even the exhibition games starting each season. Anxious to see the new guys, but I also look forward to seeing the returning players to look for improvement. It's always a mixed bag. Get frustrated with someone like Ralph III who didn't reach expectations but enjoy seeing the growth in an athlete like Rodney. Nowhere the talent, but a person I really enjoyed watching develop was Aaron Robinson a few years ago.

Then there are the total surprises, both good and bad. A Dusty Rychart comes out of nowhere, and a Joel Pryzbilla quits after a great game. Amazing how a sort of sometimes mature adult can get so wrapped up in what college kids do.
