Thought he called a really nice game vs. Indiana

Some different play calls, kept me guessing and if you’ve take away the fumbles probably puts up 50+.

The quote from Fleck post game where he asked “Do you want to win this game?” Before the touchdown to Bateman is an awesome story.

Fleck on Flickr flicking flakes? Where did we hear about the four effs before?

Need to develop and use a TE at least twice a game there is easy yardage there to be had. The few times they have it is open.

This offense is so much more sophisticated than we've seen under a Gophers coach in a long, long time. He doesn't make perfect calls all the time, of course, but the scheme gets more complicated every week as the players continue learning and growing. This inside zone RPO is something I haven't seen a lot of college teams running well. MN has run it to perfection against both OSU and IU. The route combinations are so far beyond what we saw under Limegrover (which were very high schoolish). Take away the fumbles last night and MN probably scores 50. This offense is going place the next couple years, people...strap yourself in for the ride.

100% Especially the Post game comment.

I think the quote was "Do you want to end this game?"

Coach Kirk isn't an exciting listen when interviewed, but he did a good job mixing up the calls while sticking with what Tanner can do.

I think there's a limit on Tanner's ability, but they kept it varied for his skillset so he could execute. That's good coaching.

You're correct as to the quote. Thanks for clarifying this. Either way, a great story.

When we had the ball late up 8 we kept running.

IU was going to line up to stop the run and make us pass.... and we ran.

Just don't know about that.

On the other hand that play call DEEP in our own territory.... ballsy.

They threw to a wide open tight end in the 4th who dropped it. I'm guessing they don't really trust the catching ability of the tight ends they have.

He called a nice game, it would have been nice to see Seth Green a bit more, especially when he had a lead. But I can definitely see why he wanted to keep feeding Shannon and then felt like he had to try to get Bryce williams into a rhythm.

They are high on the freshman TE from St. Cloud but I think he hasn't played much. Redshirt year.

I like the creativity on offense. The next few years could be a lot of fun to watch as they get better.

He is a special athlete. Saw him play a lot in high school. Played point guard on the basketball team. Basically unstoppable in high school football. Big, athletic, great hands. Not afraid to block. Will be a nice change when they get him in

I wish he would have mixed it up a little more. Even though the sluggo call ended up winning the game (which was awesome), I can't help but think if he had called that early in the 4th or sometime in the 3rd quarter, if that wouldn't have opened up the slants again and that last minute bomb wouldn't have been necessary.

It's way more fun to pick apart coaching decisions after a win, than a loss.

I thought so too, especially late in the 4th when IU was all about run defense lining up with everyone up there... IU was going to stop us if we ran, and we kept running. That just gave them back the ball. I know clock and all, but Morgan was doing well, IU pass D stinks ... I felt like we got a little TOO conservative late and that contributed to the comeback.

Granted, we opened it up again later and got it, so that is a good sign. Not sure past coaches would have or been able to.
