UCLA this weekend. He's been committed a long time and looks like he will be an awesome kicker. I really hope he sticks with his committment to the gophs.

Free trip to LA, I can't blame him. Hopefully he's not swayed.

rumors are aplenty he will switch to UCLA. Not good at all I was looking forward to having a trustworthy kicker for 4-5 years. Him and Orseke will be quite the kicking tandem. that being said I hope these are just what they, rumors, and he sticks with his choice to be a gopher.

I think it's a very reasonable assumption he would switch to UCLA. Why not? Get a full ride to one of the best colleges in the nation, in a great part of L.A with great weather? Kickers generally don't end up playing beyond college so who wouldn't want to attend the best college possible to get the best degree possible. UCLA would be the optimum place.

yawn! do you even root for the gophers? extremely hard to tell sometimes.

I'd agree except the part where he probably won't be a pro. He WILL. Guaranteed.

How do ya guys know he is leaving??? Give me a link then all belive it.

Wow, amazing insight.

I almost liked you better when your schtick was non-stop rippage on Doogie.

I hate Doogie a lot. But it's not my only schtick. Kip was REALLY upset about Goldie at PSU (he takes his religion EXTREMELY seriously, he thinks Christ was TREMENDOUS), and he's REALLY upset that Brewster absolutely 100% REFUSES to redshirt him. Brewster told him he'd rather get kicked in the nutz than to redshirt Kip. So he's basically been forced by the U to look elsewhere. Classy kid, you just KNOW it's killing him to have to break his pledge.

Couple thoughts:

I'm not a religious guy but surely he must think Christ IS tremendous. If Christ WAS tremendous, it kinda hurts his living after death argument. But that couldn't be less important.

Are you saying he doesn't want to play as a freshman? Why does playing as a freshman upset him so much? I'm really confused about this.

???????? How do you know

Section two ... what is your relationship that you have this inside info. I will be bummed because at least I thought we had a guy who could kick the ball into the end zone on kick-offs.

Breaking a promise is very Christ-like. Hope he's got a direct line to big G, they need to chat.

The PSU thing seems like an excuse, because it's obvious that Goldy turned away when the player was making the sign of the cross. I think he just wants UCLA more, and he's coming now that they're calling; commitment be damned. Just tell the truth, kid. Don't bury yourself in lies.

link ????

Please show the link in which it states he is not still considering Minnesota.

Sorry, didn't mean to make you all wade thru my sarcasm. I don't have a link, but supposedly his 1st choice was UCLA. They didn't offer initially. He told us, "hey, that's their problem that they didn't offer me, I want to go where I'm wanted" and committed to us (sound like Zags?). Fast forward to 1 month ago, UCLA comes knocking. Suddenly, he's a little upset about the goldy PSU incident. Suddenly he really wants to redshirt here, and Brewster won't let him (which is total BS, Ellestad would be a senior next year.) I don't have any rock solid info, and a lot of the above is hearsay and conjecture, but I can see the writing on the wall with his visit there this weekend. Bye bye. Good enough for you dpodoll? Or am I still being obtuse?

no, you are not being obtuse.......it sounds like you are just being a giant d-o-u-c-h-e about the whole subject.

sorry for responding for you dpodoll! ;)

anyways, the other player taking his official to ucla this saturday along with kip smith is also a top rated player who has committed elsewhere. where? tennessee. Brandon Willis, a defensive tackle from Duncan (S.C.) Byrnes High, and Kip Smith, a kicker from Broomfield Legacy (Colo.), will make official visits to UCLA. Willis, who is 6 feet 4, 250 pounds, is ranked sixth at his position by Rivals, and has committed to Tennessee. Smith, who has committed to Minnesota, is ranked third.

so it sounds to me like a couple young kids who are just taking advantage of a free/paid trip to go and check out los angeles for the weekend.

That's a nice story you've so far not shown you entirely made up.

...why on earth wouldn't Brewster want to redshirt Kip? Our kicking game is one of few things we're doing well this year, and we'll have both Ellstead and Orseske (unless for some reason Kip stays, it's made clear he will punt, and Orseske decides to transfer).

I see Scout has him listed as a soft verbal now. That's all I could glean.

Too bad if we lose him.

That would be pretty bad if some how we lost him because our kicking game has shown to be pretty anemic unless we are kicking 27 yard field goals.

?? Come on, are you really that sensitive? It was a joke, you've never seen Shawshank? My lord. I really only have a problem with Doogie and the serial Brewster bashers. I have no problem with the Brewster realists.

OK I am obtuse.

Did Smith actually comment on the PSU/ goldy thing? Really?

wait did he actually crap himself over the goldy thing at penn state?

because holy lol what a baby

Is that christopher hitchens (nvm, just saw your footer, I am a fan of both)? and yes, if you would take off your love of doogie glasses, and see me for the anti doogie, but reasonable in all other regards poster I am, you would see that I was speaking the truth. i don't think he really meant it, he was looking for excuses to break his commitment.
