Go Gophers!!

Let's make history! Keep telling all your friends and family including 2nd and 3rd cousins.

Ski-U-Mah and Go Gophers!

Was about to post the same thing, but Bleed like always is right on top of it. Feels like a sell-out to me for three reasons:

1) - Perfect weather forecast. 55 degrees and sunny as of now.
2) - Magnitude of this game. Maybe there's some recency bias here, but this feels to me like the most important Gopher football game in quite awhile.
3) - Lack of tickets available on secondary market as of now. Stubhub only has 440 tickets left, and only 34 of those are upper level seats. People who want cheap seats will have to buy through the box office.

So, now with the addition of the bleachers in the open end, what is a sellout. Anyone know the number, sellout/capacity.
Thanks.
Go Gophers!

52,350 for the Vikes-Patriots.

I believe the original capacity is 50,800. And I think the extra bleachers set up amount to 1,700. That adds up to 52,500 total capacity.

Wisconsin last year was the biggest game in the Jerry Kill era. There were title implications in November on the line.

If we don't break the attendance record this week, we'll certainly break it against Iowa if we're 7-1. That game is a guaranteed sell out if we're 7-1.

Then we'll probably do it again without the help of the visiting fans if we're 8-1 against OSU.

^ love thinking about 7 or 8-1. Sounds fun. Loud disruptive fun atmosphere Saturday goes miles towards those.

Hope the crowd is there for kickoff. That's always one of my worries for an 11am kick. I have faith that it will be loud.

I can't go to the game, but if I buy tickets and don't use them, would they still count towards a sellout?

I am not sure if this is a serious question or if you are trying to make a point but the answer is yes. The announced attendance is based on tickets sold.

Anyone have any idea how many tickets are typically sold at the windows the day of the game?

Exactly right. Per the Star Tribune exact capacity is 52,525:

"Additional upgrades, not all of which will be noticed by the fans, include increased storage space for team equipment and gameday needs, winterizing the concourse restrooms, installing needed technology for NFL replay reviews, adding heaters to the loge boxes on the fourth floor of the stadium, and putting in 1,720 bleacher seats in the west end zone, bringing the stadium’s capacity to 52,525"

It varies greatly based on who we are playing, the weather, and the excitement surrounding the program. On a lousy September afternoon vs. Eastern Illinois the box office may only sell a couple hundred seats, maybe 500-700 at the most. On a beautiful day vs a B1G opponent I think the box office should be able to sell close to 1,000 tickets, if not more. Plus the lack of the supply in the secondary market should drive people towards the box office.

Source: I buy/sell tickets occasionally to make a little extra money while in school at the U so I follow this stuff fairly closely.

Thanks. It looks like we could be on the edge of a sell-out!

I think MSU had already clinched, so the Sconnie game didn't matter as much.

I think MSU had already cliched, so the Sconnie game didn't matter as much.

They didn't clinch until just a few minutes before kick off. They had an 11:00 AM kickoff and we played at 2:30. In the week leading up to the game if Northwestern beat MSU and we won two games, we would have clinched the West. In hindsight, it didn't matter, but for the whole week the game was being touted as the first meaningful November game the Gophers have had in forever.

I can't wait for Saturday! I am having a tough time getting any work done. Can anyone make the clock go faster?

+1. The Thursday before the game is when I start to get really excited for Saturday's. Jerry Kill's radio show is on, brick by brick is released, the depth chart comes out, etc. What makes this week even better is our game is getting a little national attention and is regarded as a big game in the Big Ten West. Game time needs to hurry up!

Maybe its been reported here already but I heard Tom Dienhart on one of those nation-wide radio shows being interviewed this week. He of course was being asked about the B1G and the Gopher-NU game discussed he said, "I'll be at that game this week, who would have thought that Minnesota - NU would be an important game?" I am not a mind reader, but he did not at all sound like he was trying to be snarky. I'm just glad that the we are becoming a part of the discussion. Go Gophers!

A 7-1 game against Iowa and 8-1 game again tOSU would be huge and the only question would be how quickly they sellout!

There's a single seat in our row that is always vacant. It shows as sold/not available on gophersports.com. I will take that as a good sign.

Even without the added bleachers, the attendance last year vs wisconsin was 53,090 due to the 3k of standing room tickets sold. Even if we sell out, if they don't sell standing room tickets it won't be a new TCF record.

There is a single in our section too 152 and I always just want to buy it so our section turns red. I guess that's the OCD in me.

Not sure how many tickets are still left at ticket office but we are down to 328 available on Stub Hub.

One more day! Bring the noise tomorrow!

How am I going to get any work done today?

It looks like the only sections with significant numbers remaining unsold are 203, 204 and 205. I count 183 for section 203, 296 for section 204, 42 for section 205 and 17 for section 206. After that, there are some single seats, not a whole lot of seats together.

229 and 211 have probably ~50 remaining ih each as well, but that's about it apart from a group of club seats together. Tell your friends, buy tickets, let's get this thing sold out!
