Go Gophers!!

...and "walkthough stuff" is coach speak for what?

For Derrick's talent level, it is really to bad he has had the injury bug as much as he has. Hoping a speedy recovery for him!

Running plays without contact about 3/4 speed. If you can't make cuts during a walk-through.. you ain't cutting it in a game.

The Gophers likely will be without one of their starting cornerbacks against Northwestern on Saturday. Derrick Wells is still recovering from the left hamstring injury suffered against Michigan.Coach Jerry Kill said he doesn’t expect Wells to play this week but added that this injury won’t keep him out for much longer.
“We certainly need him,” Kill said. “In the secondary right now, he’s a valuable piece, and certainly when we play people that are going to spread the ball out and throw it.”
The Gophers like their depth at cornerback. Besides Wells and fellow starter Eric Murray, they have Briean Boddy-Calhoun, who leads the team with two interceptions, and Jalen Myrick, who had a pick-six against Middle Tennessee State.

Yeah bummer. Hoping for a speedy recovery for Wells. I wonder if Craig James will see the field a bit more.

Anyone know when Marcus Jones will be healthy?

Kill said Marcus Jones could return this week wearing a soft cast.

Kill just said on his radio show Foster Bush won't play Saturday.

If Joe Bjorklund is as quick to seek out/hoist over his head Northwestern d-lineman as he was the Little Brown Jug, we will be in good shape.

Thanks! He is a great asset as a kick returner and I really liked James as the punt returner.

Yeah, I could see Jones not returning kicks for a while until his hand is 100%. It would still be nice to have him available as CB depth though with the Wells injury.

I'm pretty sure James and Myrick will be your PR for the duration, Jones can handle KOR with a cast.

Myrick and James are ahead of him on the depth chart. I like MJ, but a B1G CB he is not.

As was mentioned in another thread, I thought Bjorklund played a pretty solid game against Michigan. Bush was really struggling when he saw the field in that game, maybe because he was banged up already.

Conversely, what little action I saw of Isaac Hayes in the Michigan game, he REALLY struggled. It was kind of alarming actually. Good for him to start getting some game action though. I'm sure he'll come around.
