Great news. I didn't think we'd have much of a chance if Streveler had to make the first start of his career against a tough defense on the road.

Sounds like a combination of a minor sprain and/or a tough qb.

Not criticism on my part, but did it surprise anyone this was announced so definitively? Kill has been pretty mum on injuries during game weeks in the past, and I assumed we'd get more of the same, particularly at QB.

Maybe this means that he definitively will not play. Hehehehe...

Maybe he's playing at LB?? That would throw them off!

He didn't say he would start, just play..

I forgot to use the sarcasm font

Once again. We have no idea what is actually wrong with our starting QB. Go NCAA athletics.

TCU could give 2 sh^ts who the Gophers start at QB. They will prepare for our offense. It's not like one is a dual threat and one is a pocket passer, or that our offense will look so much different with one or the other. Our offense is our offense.

why exactly would fans deserve to have an accurate daily update as to the health status of a college athlete?

My take: Jerry Kill and Coach Patterson are friends. Kill is not going to play games hoping to gain some sort of advantage by TCU wondering who our QB is. As someone offered they are going to run very similar offenses which ever guy is QB is, thus there is no advantage. So he is being straight up about it.
And two: Jerry wants his own team confident and relaxed knowing Leidner is their guy at TCU as he has been saying all winter, spring, summer and fall, so going into our most difficult task to date he wants everyone to know we'll be fine. We have our leader.

"two" sounds reasonable. I would be shocked if the premise in "one" has any bearing on this announcement. Friends are one thing. Competing is another. If gamesmanship about injuries is part of the game, then I would expect Kill to know what he's doing. I know his accent and grammar make him sound kinda dumb. He's not.

Does anyone know if wearing a knee brace makes this type of a sprain more bearable? Perhaps that is the route ML7 has taken? Or he is just a really tough kid. I just hope he doesn't injure himself further. That goes for anyone any any team. We are all human in the end.

Mitch will be fine. Between being a a mild sprain and the wonders of modern medical pain management this should have close to zero bearing on Mitch's performance this weekend. Coach could be sandbagging but signs point to probably not.

I still don't know what to think here. Could this be a smoke screen? Probably not. But, I would guess we see much more of Streveler on Saturday than we have previously.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it Purdue that had a QB play most of the year with a damaged ACL a couple seasons ago? Rob Henry maybe? Can't remember for sure.

CORRECTION: It was Robert Marve I think who played with the ACL injury his Senior year at Purdue.

I think there's a lot of needless over analyzing going on here. If Kill says that they didn't limit Leidner at all in practice that tells me Mitch should be under center for every snap this Saturday.

We haven't seen this much QB deception by a coach in this state since Hayden Fox kept his star QB out due to injury until the last drive, which led to victory over the Southern Texas Wranglers.

LOL. Nice!

lol. What I love about this deception is that it is all being manufactured here. Kill has been out front about Mitch, they are not hiding anything, if he isn't limited in practice there would be no reason not to start him on Saturday. And while I totally get the concept of coaches trying to hide things to get an advantage in this case I don't think TCU gives a crap who is under center on Saturday. They are going to be aggressive and try to stop the run....not a ton of mystery there no matter who is under center.

Badly tinted clips of Minnesota beating Wisconsin for the win! In Hayden's two biggest wins the beat the South Texas Wranglers and the West Texas something or other. Both had the same ugly red W on the helmet. Heck of a coincidence. Hopefully life can start imitating art anytime now.

was this true? I thought the whole show was filmed either in the office, the cabin or the campus club.

Yep, the game where Darrell Bevell threw a million interceptions and killed any chance of Bucky getting a national title.
