call me crazy but i think this would be sweet . . . here's the plan:

1) The Gophers take their first lead in the game
2) After the rouser, kickoff, goldy's pushups
3) immediately following Goldy's pushups, the student section starts chanting KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . KILL . . . (just like the movie Gladiator)
4) Goldy put his thumb in the air . . .
5) the KILL chant gets louder . . .
6) Goldy gives the thumbs down . . .
7) The Bank erupts with cheers . . .
8) The Defense make a huge play
9) The defense causes a 3 and out or a turnover . . .
10) NELSON.NATION. drops a deep ball on QUEIS and the Gophers take a bigger lead . . .
11) GOPHER.NATION. rolls to another victory!!!

The Bank could become the most intimidating place in the Big10 . . . how would you like to be an opposing player and you hear the KILL chant reigning down on you . . . how would you like to be a Gopher player hearing the KILL chant reigning down in support of your play . . . stroke the post, lets go!!!

Cool idea. Too many PC people out there though for something like that to fly. The athletic department wouldn't have the balls to deal with the angry letter they would get from parents that don't want their precious kids exposed to chants like that. But it would be a pretty sweet chant.

i agree sooooo . . . maybe we don't get goldy involved with the thumb since the U has control over Goldy . . . but if some students got this going . . . the U would try to shut it down . . . which means that the students would want to do the chant even more . . . therefore, it would succeed!!!!!!

What's wrong with chanting the coach's name. Like the above poster said, Notre Dame did it with Lou.

If the Wisconsin student section can repeatedly yell "F**K YOU...EAT S**T" for the last decade without repercussions than I don't see why our students can't chant the coaches name.

If the students do it on their own then the U would have no way of stopping it. I just can't see the U allowing Goldy to be involved as cool as it would be because if he was you could put him up on a platform near the endzone to lead it.

Would love to see the student section do something like this on their own. Anything to make the game fun for students so that they want to keep on coming back.

I'd be subjugated by all that reigning. The admin would have to be watchful, however, reining in the crowd if they got too agitated. This could be too much on a clear, hot day, but probably the fans would be less aggressive if it were raining.
