It makes sense that his initial targets are going to be guys he recruited while at Toledo because those are the guys he is familiar with. The interesting thing to watch there is that most of the Toledo staff didn't come with him so he is going to be recruiting against his former position coach who is now the head coach at Toledo.
Any coach that takes over this time of year is going to be playing catch up in recruiting so you start with the guys you know and also make every effort to keep the current verbals left over by the other staff.
Looking to the future though and addressing the question by the poster, yeah I could see Beckman and Kill targeting similar types of players since they both have a background in the MAC.
