KiAnte Hardin commits

Ryan Burns @RyanBurnsGI.@khard_7 is an elite athlete at 5'10" 165 with legit 4.4 speed. Minnesota likes him at cornerback right now, but definitely could be a WR.

Go Gophers!!

Wow! We need DBs so this has been a great week. Welcome to the Gopher Family Kiante!

A little undersized but he'll put on some weight and he's obviously a great athlete. Can't have too many of those. Welcome Kiante!

Go Gophers!!

Check out the very last highlight on this video, starting at about 2:20. The DB leaps to make an interception and Hardin just steals the ball away without breaking stride. Let's have some of those in a Gopher uniform!

Webb City is nationally ranked high school program, and I have to imagine that it came up that this was Jerry's first HC job when they recruited him. Good get.

Looks like he has all the makings to be a fantastic punt/kick returner.

I like the optimism about landing Kiante...he looks like a solid player. However, I don't think is a landmark commitment. Look at the other schools that offered him. Not exactly powerhouses...

Has jerry and his staff not proven to you yet the offers don't matter... He recruits to fit his schemes and plans... Embrace the kid

Touché. All I am saying is with those other offers it would be a huge letdown if he didn't commit to us. Looking forward to seeing him at TCF!

I took a look at track profiles on athletic.net and compared 100m times as juniors (Kiante's most recent season):

Kiante Hardin's best time: 10.90

Berkley Edward's best time: 10.89

Jalen Myrick's best time: 10.61

It's tough to teach speed and he definitely has that.

It's October. A lot of these guys end up getting offers from other schools as signing day approaches in February and said schools lose out on other targets.

I trust.

Idk......who was the highest rated DB coming out of high school who's currently starting? This staff wouldn't offer a kid who couldn't play. A couple years ago......I'd have agreed with you about his offer list. Now? Nah. Sawvel may be the best DB talent evaluator in the nation.

Speed Kills! Congrats to Kiante!

Eric Murray - no other major offers
Ced Thompson - no other major offers (unless you count Northern Arizona)
BBC - don't remember this but apparently only Ill also offered
Myrick - Co St, MTSU
Travis - Western Michigan
Johnson - only MAC schools
Wells - Ball St
James - Mizzou, Ill, IA

So looking at our secondary which many consider one of the best in the conference, the best offers belong to James, who plays the least (granted he's a true frosh), and the only other major conference offer is BBC from ILL. At this point shouldn't you trust that this staff can field a top secondary with talented players regardless of the offers? Its not like they're getting by on grit and grime either, these guys have size and athleticism

I think Berkley ran 10.52 and Hardin has run 10.81. Regardless, those are all legitimately fast dudes!

According to athletic.net (which admittedly may not have all the results) Berkley ran his 10.52 as a senior. I only looking at times as a junior since Hardin has not run his senior season yet. Where did you find Hardin's 10.81?

WOW! Watching his midseason highlight video from this year he looks like he'll be a really fun player to watch! That speed though!!!

Busky is a lot like Bucky...I am going to go with Troll and ignore you going forward.
