Katz story on Izzo

Katz is giving the Big 10 a lot of love so far this season. Did find it interesting that when talking about MSU's toughest games within the conference, Katz doesn't mention the Gophers, but does include Northwestern. Is that a hint that he thinks the Gophers are overrated or is that just a product of the recent events?

I have been getting the sense that he thinks that the gophers are overrated this season. Did anyone catch the "Could this be Northwestern's year?" article by Katz a couple days ago?

"The unfortunate reality for Northwestern is that the Big Ten could be the best and deepest conference in the country. The Cats don't enter the season predicted to finish higher than Michigan State, Purdue or Ohio State. Michigan and Illinois are clearly projected ahead of them as well. That leaves Northwestern, at least at the outset, with a group of schools such as Minnesota, Wisconsin and Penn State attempting to finish at the very least as high as sixth."

Does it seem a little strange that "Michigan and Illinois are clearly projected ahead of them" while Minnesota is battling NW for the sixth spot?

Last time I looked, MN was also clearly projected to finish b/f NW too... at least at the outset.
