Kansas State's Frank Martin throws PG and D under the bus (video)

And people say Tubby throws his guys under the bus.

I don't know people act like Tubby is the only coach that calls out his players. Hell, Calipari told the media a few weeks ago that Marquis Teague wasn't "his" point guard. That's pretty brutal.

What I meant is Tubby's throwing players under the bus is not the same as cussing about a player in an interview.

I don't think he cussed him out, I think the video just skipped. I think he said 3 TOs with a four point lead, it's hard to win.

Coach Tubby and Coach Frank need to realize that they risk hurting their players' feelings and as we've learned on this board it can scar them for the rest of their lives.

If you play for Frank Martin and can get your feelings hurt that easily, you're an idiot.

I don't know why everyone thinks that you must coddle collegiate athletes like an infant. Different coaches have different styles. Frank is straight forward in his approach and isn't going to sugar coat things like most coaches. Sure, he seems like a complete asshole at times but he gets his point across. This style is apparently working for him as he runs a successful program and his players seem to love him. Tough love works sometimes.

Frank Martin was an assistant for Bob Huggins and Huggins is as hard on his players as anyone I have ever heard about. And that is from listening to Bob Huggins at a coaches conference. Some of the things he made his players do seemed like it was straight out of a 1950s boot camp. But when one of his players blew out a knee in (i think) the Big East tournament a few years ago, Huggins was the first person out on the court kneeling over the kid. Tough love is sometimes the best(only) way to get through to kids.
