per Judd:

You better believe that first-year athletic director Mark Coyle is evaluating Claeys on a daily basis and there is no way he was satisfied with what he saw in State College, Pa.

Claeys was rewarded with a three-year, $4.5 million contract when he took over for Kill last season. The deal includes a favorable buyout that would cost the university only $500,000 to say goodbye to the coach, if Coyle elects to make a change after this season.

Starting over with a coaching search might seem like a drastic thing to bring up four games into the season, but Coyle has to know that right now his two biggest revenue-producing programs (football and men’s basketball) are behind even the Twins when it comes to interest from Minnesota sports fans.

Claeys’ team had a chance to begin changing that by winning on Saturday, but instead they gave fans a fantastic excuse to continue to ignore them.

That is something Coyle is unlikely to ignore.

Go Gophers!!

Judd or Fudd who?

I'm sure Souhan and Reusse will be on the war path if we lose to Iowa. The Gophers are the media punching bag and the only way to shut them up is by winning.

The truth hurts. He is right on the money.

He is and he isn't. Had they won, even if it was by 50 points, they'd have been "the" sports story in town for about 12 hours, being quickly swept under the rug by the Ryder Cup and the Vikings on MNF.

I wonder how he came to that conclusion. Hyperbole has been out in full force the past few days.
