per the Journal Sentinel:

Pat Richter hasn't forgotten the last time Wisconsin and Minnesota both had legitimate championship aspirations when they met on the football field.

"Fifty-two years ago," Richter said.

Nov. 24, 1962.

Richter was a senior end on the No. 3 UW team that rallied to beat No. 5 Minnesota, 14-9, to win the Big Ten title outright and clinch a berth in the 1963 Rose Bowl.

"It came down to us winning the game and going to the Rose Bowl," Richter, 73, said.

The Big Ten West Division title and a berth in the league title game will be on the line when UW (9-2, 6-1 Big Ten) hosts Minnesota (8-3, 5-2) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

The winner will move on to face East Division champion Ohio State (10-1, 7-0) in the league title game on Dec. 6 in Indianapolis. The Buckeyes close the regular season Saturday against visiting Michigan.
