I got a chance to talk to Greg Stephen, the 14-and-under coach for the Iowa Barnstormers, Josh Oglesby's AAu program. He said that Oglesby is visiting Iowa this weekend, Minnesota next weekend and Arizona State and Illinois the following two weekends. Tubby Smith and Ron Jirsa are making a home visit to Oglesby Monday and Arizona State is visiting Tuesday.

Thanks for the info. I have a question. It looked to me like there were 4 or 5 kids with "Iowa Barnstormers" t-shirts on walking on the south side of the stadium before the game. Were they just Barnstormer Arena Football fans or were they basketball players up for a visit? Do you know who might be considered targets from there?

That was the entire 14-and-under team for the Iowa Barnstormers. This is a group that won their final 21 games, beating DC Assault in the West Coast AAU Nationals. They won seven tournaments and have several high major prospects. Their coach Greg Stephen thought that this would be their next strong group. This year's team had Josh Oglesby, Jarrod Uthoff (Wisconsin) and Seth Tuttle (Northern Iowa).

Per the linked article (premium), sounds like Oglesby's official vist to Iowa went pretty well.

"The biggest thing that stood out was how hard the players worked out," he said. "Second, the girls (he saw in Iowa City)."

I heard Tubby was looking for Jesus Shuttlesworth's "assistant coaches" for Josh's visit to Minneapolis this coming weekend.
