Going back to when he took over last season (11 games), his defense is giving up 19.0 points per game, which would rank 18th in FBS over that period of time.

That would be the best showing by a Gopher defense since 1999 when they gave up just 15.6 ppg.

Even more impressive is what we have done in conference games only. Over 7 Big Ten games under Rossi we are giving up just 15.8 points a game.

He has done an amazing job getting the D in position to take away those back breaking explossive plays that were killing us in the Rob Smith era.
