Found this on a site called collegespun.com. http://collegespun.com/big-ten/michigan/jim-harbaugh-leaves-press-conference
This is the sort of thing that can potentially have an adverse affect on the team though.
I wouldn't call that storming out.
I don't think that he stormed out either. I do not know Jim Harbaugh, but a friend spoke with him in the context of recruiting her son. She said he was funny/friendly in a nerdy sort of way. But from a distance he does some things that make him come off as a jerk.
Oh do tell...
Having a strained relationship with the media isn't a good thing for starters. It would be easy to see boosters and the administration not being too happy with such actions and putting him on a shorter leash if this year is deemed a failure. If past history is indicative of what happens when coaches exhibit this type of behavior, things like this are hard to overcome. If Harbaugh doesn't deliver a team that is in the hunt for a conference championship and doesn't beat the Buckeyes this year, he will feel the pressure and things like this will weigh in the school's deciding which direction it will go.
You mean past issues like Mark Dantonio has had, Saban.... ...
I couldn't find an example where Dantonio walked out in the middle of a press conference. As far as Saban goes, obviously having great success affords you some leeway. That's why I mentioned being a championship contender and beating OSU. It's rare that a coach who isn't meeting expectations having such leeway.
Mark has stormed out of more conferences than Jim.
If you don't win it also doesn't matter if you're a nice guy so the above press conference doesn't matter either way.
Link.
Being a nice guy but a bad coach doesn't necessarily result in being kicked to the curb right away (See Brady Hoke). Having a negative impact on the Michigan brand while not coming through as expected probably would.
