This morning's comments:

1) Looking forward to the start of spring practice that starts Thursday.

2) As far as position changes, the players will start the spring practice where they've been. After spring ball and evaluation there may be a position change for player(s).

3) Talked briefly about Jucos, freshman (Marcus Jones) and transfer kicker (Hawthorne) being available for spring practice. Also, mentioned Josh Campion (big and athletic), "We need him to come through." (Offiensive line help is a big need.)

4) "Marqueis Gray is a great athlete, we'll see how he does at quarterback." It'll take 15 spring practices to evaluate the position. Mentioned the size of Alipate per Sid's prompting.

5) Doesn't like to talk about players until they see them perform in practice and that's the same with depth charts. Spring practice is about expectations (what the coaches expect at practice) and how they practice. They'll know more about the team after spring ball.

6) He'll know more about academic problems (who's corrected or made strides and those that haven't) Wednesday evening. If player has academic issues he won't practice this spring and will focus on academics instead.

Go Gophers!!

Jewhan Edwards gone for good.

One truth that fits many kids/adults is that college is not for everyone. Either they are not capable or not prepared. I think Jewhan falls into one of those categories.

Coach Kill will still take some kids who are academic risks. Hopefully through his mentorship those young men will flourish...maybe Jewhan could have if he had given himself a chance.

One thing that has become crystal clear...the players better have a high work ethic and be goal oriented in the classroom, on the field and in life. If they are not, they will not be successful Golden Gopher football players.
