Jerry will be interviewed for ~15 minutes with Tom Cranz (sp?)

I'm out of state so I'm confused. MPR says they have 3 stations (classical, the current, and news)... which one is Kill going to be on?

The Host/Interviewer is a SIU grad. Nice (coincidental) touch.

Caught that too! For some reason I thought he was a Bucky guy.

And the obligatory health question comes into play. No actual talk about the team.

Host gave Kill a chance to take a shot at the columnists who went after him 2 years ago. Kill was nothing but gracious in his response. Ended with a question about how tough the schedule is this year.

It's MPR, not a sports station. Shouldn't be surprising they stuck to more public affairs/news questions (Kill's health, facilities, etc) than sports, everyone caters to their audience and I'm sure Kill had different talking points in mind than when he is on KFAN, for instance.

I get that it's MPR but I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the head coach of the football team to talk a little bit about the team. I listen to MPR and follow sports, the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

How are the tattooed baristas going to get their Jet Sweep updates then?

Hey there are a lot of us regular dad types that listen to MPR for news and info (not just the coffee house coolies).

But regular dad types also frequent media like GopherHole, ESPN, etc... Those poor other guys probably only heard the word "football" today for the first time in months.

Knowledge about anything, including football, can be absorbed via osmosis through the lining of a Fedora. MPR is just a formality for hipsters.

I caught part of the segment beforehand where distinguished U Of M Alum, Josie Johnson spoke. She is very impressive.
Howard Sinker, the digital sports editor at the Strib also talks Gopher Football during the season on MPR. I just can't take the sophmoric morning show that KFAN is putting out.
