A few quick comments from Coach Kill:

1) Going to work hard to fill scholarship limit, but we're also going to work hard recruiting the non-scholarship players.

2) We'll recruit non-scholarship players that would attend Northern Illinois, NDSU, North Dakota, etc. Recruit non-scholarship players from Minnesota, Wisconsin.

3) Emphasis will be placed on special team play. Northern Illinois ranked high in blocked kicks during his tenure at the MAC school.

Additional remarks:

Willl have a team meeting on Monday, January 17.. Pollicy handbooks will be given to the players, vision outlined, and what his and his staff's expectations are.

Strength and weight training: Get stronger and run better. Takes about three years to develop the program. We got stronger as the year progressed at his previous stops. A good strenth and weight training program reduces incidents of injuries.

Not happy with the grades that were recently released. Academics are a high priority.

He comes off as a no nonsense coach. I think the players will have to tow the line, in a lot a ways his approach seems a lot like Tubby.
Future is looking brighter!
 

On a side note, all four juco players have signed their letters of intent and will be here next week for school.

I love that he flat out said that he's disappointed in the grades of his players. The guy is just a class act. I have no question that he's going to run a squeaky-clean program. Too bad a lot of the top programs in college footbal don't operate that way.

I like that he doesn't sugarcoat anything. Brewster would not have even brought it up.

At least football grades improved under Brewster. And of course we all know that Mason didn't do or say anything about grades. I think most of us would prefer to focus on the future of Gopher football. But whenever you guys go after Brewster I am going to include Mason in the thread. So it is your choice about how readable you want GopherHole to be.

I don't understand why we try drinking beer out of an empty beer bottle. It's gone, it's over, throw it out with the dishwater. Concentrate on the new one.

Too bad Punky couldn't keep up with Mase's overall record. We all thought it wouldn't be hard to beat, but choice #1 was a failure. We'll see if coach #2 can live up to the horrid record Mase had according to you kool-aid folks...

Hate to tell you, but the only thing different between Brewster apologists and the Mase lovers on this board is the particular kind of Kool Aid you are drinking.

If I had to guess, the Brewster apologists would be drinking Purplesauras Rex and the Masonites would be drinking Echto Cooler...

hahaha damnit I will never be able to drink Echto Cooler again. I really enjoyed that stuff when I was little.

They ain't that much different in the Big Ten and Mason introduced me to non-conference schools I did not know had football teams.
