Michigan passing game coordinator, quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach Jedd Fisch has agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Wolverines, according to a source.

The deal locks up Fisch, one of college football’s top offensive minds, before the heat of the NFL’s assistant hiring cycle. Fisch has 11 years of coaching experience in the NFL and was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive coordinator from 2013–14. Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh discussed plans for extending Fisch's contract before the Wolverines' 41–7 win over Florida in the Citrus Bowl.

Fisch’s extension will pay him an average of between $650,000 and $750,000 annually, plus incentives, per the source.

Mind boggling to believe all that after the disaster of an offense he created here.

Not only here, but just about everywhere else he's been. Perhaps he's learned his lesson. Perhaps he didn't try to coach Ruddock up. Given the dumpster fire Michigan had behind Ruddock at QB, I'm still curious to see how this one ends. If he continues to succeed great for him, but I'd tie my canoe pretty close to Harbaugh if I were him. He's worked for some pretty good coaches along the way (and with some good QBs) and they've all jettisoned him because, well, he sucked. If he needed help, all he got was rhetoric from Brewster so no surprise that he struggled here.

Of course, given how his career has gone, if Harbaugh fired him, he probably would have gotten a HC job in the NFL.

Jedd Fisch and Everett Withers, two awful coaches here but have done nothing but climb the ladder since leaving.

Absolutely no respect for Withers. He gave up here before the season started. He appears to be building his resume and doing well, which is good for him and I do not wish him to fail, just don't have any respect for him and never will for turning his back on the kids.

Fisch and Withers both came here with NFL mindsets and tried to pile way too much on college athletes. They both really struggled here but also seemingly learned from their mistakes and have done quite well since leaving. Good for them, unfortunate for us. For as much of a mess as he was here Fisch must be doing something right to keep on landing really high profile jobs. That or he has a really thick folder of blackmail material he is using.... :)

It is pretty amazing. For a guy that never played high school or college football he's had a meteoric career arc under some of the bigger names in football. As far as I know he doesn't have family connections greasing the way like Kiffin or Pitino. Interesting to go from the Jags to Michigan.
