per Jason King:

Eventually someone needs to address the elephant in the room about the elephant in the room.

Seriously, I need to see a birth certificate.

Until then I won’t believe Udoka Azubuike is only 15.

Or rather, “barely 15,” as the five-star prospect suggested at the NBPA Top 100 camp last month.

A center for Nike Team Florida, Azubuike stands 6’10”. He weighs 268 pounds. The Nigerian—who has only been in the United States for two years and already has offers from Kentucky and Kansas, among others—has hair on his chest and barrels through defenders as if they were bowling pins. All of this, he says, despite never spending a minute in a weight room.

It truly is a sight to behold.

Go Gophers!!

From this footage recorded roughly 1 year ago, I find it peculiar that this kid has filled out quite a bit but hasn't grown an inch. I would have expected at least an inch or two growth height wise.

It's very common to reach your peak height at age 14 or 15. Very common.
Nothing to see here. Move along.

I'm not sure that is accurate.

I agree for different reason though. Recruiting sites and even D1 roster pages are incredibly inaccurate when throwing numbers at heights and weight, I wouldn't put much into it.

Sorry, I was being completely sarcastic. My bad.

Oh. It actually is common for Nigerian male adolescents to have their height peak at an earlier age than most other ethnic groups, I just thought 14-15 was a little sooner than studies I have read.

I didn't grow any taller after 14/15. I have no clue how common that is - but, while many others grew around me, I never made the observation that it was particularly unusual.

I stopped growing height wise when i was 12-13. Although it is extremely uncommon it is far from unheard of. 14 or 15 is indeed very common.

We had a few italian guys who were 5'7" in 8th grade and were the tallest guys in the class. They're still 5'7"

Eyyyyyyyyyy.......

(Not really Italian)

I was 6 foot in 7th grade and I'm 6 foot now. No one ever wanted to see my birth certificate but everybody thought I was 3 grades ahead of where I was.

But how many adults in the 7 foot range max out that young. Guys like Shaq and KG keep growing into their later teens for the most part. I believe Garnett still grew an inch or two after he became a T-wolf.

Thon Maker was a 7 footer in eighth grade. I guess you could question his age as well but facially he does like like an eighth grader unlike Udoka at his age.
