The Gophers don't notch their third RPI top-50 win (Iowa drops out of the top 50), but the good news is they crack the RPI top 25 at #24.

If Michigan has 6 wins against top 50 teams as opposed to2 for the Gophers, why is Michigan ranked lower? Because of bad losses??

It bothers me that Ohio States RPI is so high for what.... a) beating a miami hurricanes team on the road after their best player was tossed from the game for making a slapping motion b) beating a highly over rated notre dame team (who lost to st. johns) c) barely beating a butler team who struggled with teams such as youngstown state, and detroit mercy (i've seen butler play this year in person...they are good but not worthy of being #20)

The whole problem with RPI is that at some point these games show a reflection of a pre season ranking. Which is why Ohio State got so much credit for their win over Miami since they were an early pre-season top 25 team.

According to the last update, Iowa was #50 when we played them, so why doesn't it still count as a top 50 win? If they make it back into the top 50, will it then count as a top 50 win?

That seems to be how the RPI works.

RPI rankings have nothing to do with preseason rankings. Every team regardless of name or stature starts with a clean slate at the beginning of the season.

Yes, but I suspect we've seen the last of Iowa in the top 50 of the RPI this season.
