North Dakota Ends Tommies' Home Winning Streak with Late Rally
Eli King's tough bucket at the rim off a Greyson Uelmen steal with 6.9 seconds left earned North Dakota a thrilling 81-80, come-from-behind win over St. Thomas in Saint Paul, ending the Tommies' previously nation-best 28-game home winning streak. It was UND's only lead of the second half. King, the Fighting Sioux's steadying veteran presence all night on both ends of the floor, finished with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds.

The Fighting Sioux, winners of four straight, improved to 13-12 overall and 7-2 in the Summit League. Garrett Anderson (20 points, 4 treys), Zach Kraft (14 points, 6 rebounds), and Uelmen (12 points) joined King in double figures. Hiccup-quick freshman Anthony Smith III also played a key role off the bench with six points and three rebounds. The Tommies (17-6, 6-2 Summit) were led by Nolan Minessale and Nick Janowski with 24 and 20 points, respectively. Austin Herro continued his stellar play from the point guard position with 11 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

St. Thomas looks to get back on the horse Sunday when it hosts Kansas City (4-18, 1-7 Summit) at 1 p.m. in a nationally televised game on CBS Sports Network. Second-place North Dakota has a weekend bye and will start a two-game homestand Thursday vs. Omaha.

Dribbles & Scribbles
-- Always hate to hear this kind of news.

Per Jay Elsen at Midco Sports, following an MRI on his injured foot South Dakota leading-scorer Isaac Bruns (20.8 ppg) is out for the remainder of the season. USD has been decimated by season-ending injuries but are still battling and finding ways to win games behind big man Cameron Fens and guard Jordan Crawford. The 'Yotes currently are tied with Omaha for fourth place in the Summit with a 4-4 mark.

-- With the Tommie loss, Akron, Duke, and Miami-Ohio now share the nation's longest active home winning streaks at 27 games.

-- UC-Irvine beat Hawaii 87-76 in overtime to take sole possession of first place in the Big West. Kyle Evans and Jurian Dixon led last season's NIT runner-up Anteaters (15-7, 8-2 Big West) with 19 points apiece. Isaac Johnson led the Rainbow Warriors (15-5, 7-3 Big West) with 17.

-- If you want to see two schools that can't stand one another go at it, tune in tonight for Michigan @ Michigan State at 7 p.m. on FOX. The winner takes sole possession of first place in a top-heavy Big Ten with four teams (also Illinois & Nebraska) tied for first with 9-1 records.
