Dribbles & Scribbles
-- Martin Luther King Day brings us all-day basketball, but a slate light on high-impact matchups. I'd recommend #77 George Washington @ #64 bubbler George Mason (4/CBSSN). Mason has an impressive record (17-1) but is short on quality wins. This would be a decent (Quad 3) win for the Patriots if they can get it.
-- Heading into my latest Field of 68 projection (see Field of 68 thread on St. Thomas/Summit League board), I had 16 teams under consideration for the final nine at-large spots in the field: Auburn, Baylor, Butler, George Mason, Miami-Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, NC State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, Seton Hall, Stanford, Texas, and Utah State. These nine made the cut:
Auburn, Miami-Florida, Missouri, New Mexico, Saint Mary's, Seton Hall, Stanford, Texas, and Utah State, with New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, and Stanford the "Last 4 In".
