put that on the long list of movies that could not or would not get made today with our current political sensibilities.

I had a buddy who bought one of the first commercially-available laser disc players when they came out - the old ones with the disc the size of a record album. the first two movies he bought were "Animal House" and "Close Encounters."

We watched those movies so many times we could do all of the dialogue by heart.
