I remember when I posted those same words on Gopherhole about a year before Mason got fired, posters were in an uproar. I had felt 9 years was plenty of time for us to see that Mason was not going to take us out of medocrity. People were mad at me and wanting to get me banned from Gopherhole. A year later after the Texas Tech debacle posters were ready to see Mase go!

Now I feel with coach Brewster we are coming to that same point. He came here with high hopes and big expectations. He was confident in telling the world, he was going to take
Gopher nation to Pasedena.

Ever since Brewster came here I have taken a wait and see approach. I've defended Brewster against the Masonites and told the Brewsterites they need to start to raise their expectations for coach Brewster.

Now four years later we lose to lowly South Dakota and people are wondering if we will win a game for the rest of the season. We are getting into the dark days with Brewster like we did with Mase. It's going to be up to Brewster if he is going to suffer the same fate like Coach Mason or be determined enough to fight his way out. Fighting his way out means start getting victories over teams that would mean something and victories the program can build on.

I have my doubts if coach Brewster can back up his Pasadena talk when he first came here. Right now many posters have their doubts also. The last three years we have not seen a victory that would show us things are getting turned around. A win over USC would be a great place to start. I have my doubts it's going to happen because our defense is pathetic, Weber lacks consistency, and Brewster's lack of game preparation. If we beat USC then maybe there is hope for the future.

I have my doubts that Brewster will turn things around and I think it may take a hand from God to get things turned around. Right now we need all the hands we can get in tackling the ball carrier and catching passes. Let's hope God is still in the miracle working business.

You're a little late to this party, but glad to have you.

Well the team deserves to have him coach thru the season, after that it will be clear to all whether he should be fired or not. I don't want him fired unless the powers that be will fork out the dough for a big ten caliber coach though. If we are going to try to hire on the cheap as just as soon give Brew more time than start over.

You are one of the guys on this board that I really respect and I KNOW you have the best long term interests of the program in your heart - so I put a lot of stock into your opinion and am glad to hear it. I also respect the posters who let a little time go by before weighing in rather than coming on here in the third quarter of some great or horrible game and make bombastic remarks in either direction.

My challenge to you - and this is not meant to sound patronizing so don't take it that way - is how can you be a tangible part of the solution going forward? I am asking myself the same question and have a few ideas floating around. If you come up with something let me know.

Anyway - glad to hear your input on the current state of Gopher Football.

Go Gophers. Rah!

Better late then never! I have always said give Brewster three years before we get upset about our teams lack of performance. This being Brewsters fourth year he needs to start being held accountable. I hope Brewster does well, but the way the season is starting out, I have my doubts Brewster will be around for next year.,

we would be 3 years ahead if we would have spit the kool aid out after the one win season....

pretty sure brew uses a dart board to pick a offensive script.
