We've disected everything about the football program from soup to nuts. I certainly value everyone's topics/opinions, but I think it is getting pretty boring and mundane; including my own musings. Practice starts in about a week, so I'm looking forward to the site being revitilized with practice recaps, notes, etc. I have great anticipation for the year. I want Coach Kill to give this State an enema in regards to Gopher football. I want to walk into church on Sunday morning and hear people saying " How bout them Gophs" Boys, I'm 68 years old and in reasonably good health, but old " Farther Time " is catching up with me. Yes, I'm one of the grey beards Reusse and clan talk about in regards to Gopher football. Man, it's funny because 25 years ago I would be sitting in the Dome and look at the oldsters
wonder how in the hell can these people keep coming back, especially when someone lays 84 points on you like Nebraska did. Well, here I am 25 years later and still have great compassion for the Gophs. In the words of the late Marvin Gay"
"Let's get it on"

I know where you are coming from ruppert. Those years have flown by.

Every year promises excitement and something new. Will this be the year? Will it be next year?

It would be fun to see the metro and whole state excited about the Gophers again. Last time was 97 for hoops. Yeah I know it didn't really happen.

Hope springs eternal.

Go Gophers.

I remember getting my first Gopher tickets in 1973. Tony Dungy was I think a Sophmore. The Gophers were running the veer, the defense was good. And Cal Stoll was the Coach. The 70's were a great decade for Gopher Sports. Hockey wins two titles? Basketball is entertaining and Memorial Stadium saw some great games against great players. Rick Leach, Marion Barber, Kent Kitzman, Marcus Allen, Anthony Carter. Cal was 39-39 and had shut out Michigan and close to 500 in the conference. I think it all went south when they canned Cal in favor for favored son Joe Salem. From that day the defense deteriorated. I think I have seen it all. When they hired Lou Holtz I had budgeted for the tickets, hotel, and flight to L.A. We had a total of 6 season tickets. By the end of the eighties we were down to two. I began to think it was bad karma having abandoned Memorial Stadium, I began to hate the dome. I am 64 and each year I think this is the year, this is the year it all falls our way.
