We could be at CatsPause complaining about Calipari's lack of success. I wish I was kidding.

I see better days with or without Coach Smith. The state produces enough players, without having to compete with another in-state school, to build a nucleus around. Imagine if we could have kept even one or two of the following- Lockett, Aldrich, Taylor, Leuer. We're in a down cycle in HS local talent, but it will come back and relieve some of the pressure to win a lot of national recruiting battles outside of the state like we've been in the past two years.

2014 is chalk full of talent. jones, vaughn, travis, theissen, that kid from hopkins, leron black. we could have a monster class that year potentially

I think a point we all need to consider: If EVERY team does not go 31-3 or so, and win a National Championship, EVERY Coach is crap. :banghead:

Example = Roy Williams. NCAA champions in 2009. But 20-17 in 2010 despite adding 4 McD A-A recruits (total of 5 Parade HS A-A) as freshmen.

UK is 17-7 with enormously talented players.

Minnesota is 16-8 without many of those.

Not THAT much different, really.

Kentucky has 5 of those 7 in the crappy $EC, including Alabama, Ole Miss, and Georgia.

Our losses (outside of Indiana) have been to ranked or tournament bubble teams. (Virginia and Indiana being excluded)

As I said, not THAT much different.
