It’s exceedingly frustrating to comprehend that Al Nolen means so much to the Gophers that they literally cannot guard the 3-point line without him.

What happened against Virginia and Cornell is simply unacceptable.

The worst part about this whole thing is that the Cavs and Big Red may win a combined 30 games this season.

Bottom line, the Gophers are not a good team. I’m not sure if they’re a “bad” team, but they’re certainly not a good team.

Good teams don’t get embarrassed by a conference bottom-feeder (Virginia), prepare for four days and barely squeak by an overwhelmingly undermanned team (Cornell) at home.

Don’t try and rationalize or make excuses – Minnesota just isn’t all that good.

And here’s why:

The Gophers’ free throw shooting has gone beyond bad, sped past embarrassing and has caught up with downright bizarre. I cannot think of another word that to describe how they shoot from the charity stripe. It’s an awkward, foolish event every time one of Tubby’s jerks toes the line.

And the perimeter defense?

Don’t even get me started.

There are so many people to blame for Minnesota’s ineptitude. Sometimes they look lost, sometimes they look undermanned and other times they look like they aren’t even trying.

This board is absolutely terrible at putting things in perspective. Post-Puerto Rico, we were making comparisons to the 1997 team. Now we're a sub-mediocre team that will struggle to finish above Northwestern, apparently. Jesus Christ, calm down, people. The real season hasn't even begun. They haven't even played a single game with their roster completely intact. Take a deep breath and RELAX.

Here's a suggestion. Cheer for a different team. No one here will miss you.

That's just how this poster is. He's already been proven to not have a clue in the past. As such, this thread is just in keeping with his ongoing "this Gopher team sucks" mantra.

I don't believe that the OP is trying to make a valid point as much as he is trying to flame and thus get a reaction. I mean no one is THAT clueless.

"...every time one of Tubby’s jerks toes the line..."

Yeah, I think Ralph is one of the biggest jerks I've ever seen in a Gopher uniform. Blake seems like a big a$$hole too.

Guys, don't feed the troll.

The guy has the same shtick every year. It's "BigGopherFan," "gopherweirdo," and "gophermanic" that just come on here to troll. You will never see them after a good win, but only after a bad loss and they will lament that we are the worst team in the history of NCAA basketball.

Just ignore them...

We aren't getting the turnovers we were when we had Al. We need to force turnovers and get some fast break points and throw the other team off and we seem to do better. Pushing the ball up the court helped us offensively as well. It will just take a little time to get our offensive mojo going without Al.
