It has to be clear to the head coach that the whole offensive program is broken down. 110 in total offensie in the country and dead last in just about all offensive statistical categories. I wouldn't do this to just change 1 or 2 coaches, this one needs a makeover. Just about the hole offensive staff needs to go. 8 quarters without scoring an offensive touchdown and a hole season of offensive regression leads me to this conlcusion. The head coach isn't going to get a lot more time to put his best foot forward. Keep Lewis the T-ends coach because he is a good recruiter and brings in a lot of guys. Gophers need an offensive staff that has worked together before maybe as a group where the O-coordinator was recently released because the head coach was fired. If we can snatch up a decent group as a hole that would be best.
I don't say this lightly as I think Brewster's future as the head coach depends on making this type of desperate move. Bring in an offensive coordinator that is a strong personality confident like the head coach but has had some success, has a good record as an X's and O's guy and let the new offensive coordinator hire his own, RB, WR, O-line and QB coach. Need a QB coach that actually maybe has played a little QB. We need continuity but we also need chemistry and a good group that likes to work together. This olfensive system is really broken the results on the field speak volumes to this being the case. It's not like the NFL you can't just trade the players so you have to make change, then you end having to change the coaches.
