With 15 practices before whatever minor bowl game the Gophers play in, why not give Gray a start? 15 days of first team reps and a chance to stake his claim to the starting position in 2010. I can't imainge many people truly care about the outcome of the bowl, so why not give Gray a chance in a low pressure situation?

The only downside I can see is a poor performance by Gray would kill some hope for 2010. Even then though, he'd still have Spring ball and Fall practice to improve. Failing that, we have Weber, Alipate, and Parish to compete.

Just an idea and don't take it to mean that I believe Gray is the answer at QB.

We have to go through this all again? We all agree, BUT, IT AINT GOING TO HAPPEN! For whatever reason, Fisch likes Weber as the starting QB....

Brewster has said Weber will be the QB this yr. and there will be open competition in spring. So no matter what anybody else thinks, we are stuck. I think that putting Grey in for one play at a time and expecting him to have any rhythm is unreasonable. Give him a couple of series and let him get in the flow.

I agree completely with that comment. This was one of my biggest concerns going into the season. Playing multiple QB's is very questionable, especially when both of them are in a brand new offense. This offense also ran several different types of trick plays. It makes me wonder how much practice time is devoted to quarterback rotation and trick plays. I have a feeling that this is very related to the lack of discipline this team has shown with regards to penalties.

My biggest hope for next year is that Brewster and Fisch figure this out and stick to the game plan. Add the trick plays once the offense is set, not before.

All in all this year was a waste. Weber has completely lost his confidence. Gray did not really get experience as a quarterback, really only as a runner. Running an offense and reading a defense will be completely different when he takes in the whole package.

yes. if you didn't notice when he did play today, Gray passed to the wrong team, missed open recievers and ran into the line and fell down. We've got plenty of that on offense right now.

Seriously, Fisch is asking the QBs to do way, way, way too much right now. Weber can't handle it. Why do you think Gray can? The only time he's shown anything promising is in the game against tOSU when the outcome was decided and the 2nd/3rd stringers were in for tOSU on D.

He's had some nice plays here and there this year, but some truly brutal ones as well.

Plus, if he were ready, it would have happened by now.
