It just doesn't seem to be steeped in Big Ten tradition.

For those that aren't watching.

If they somehow both lose the game, then yes it is a Big Ten game.

Since we're talking PSU in this thread, what are opinions on James Franklin? The dumpster fire he left at Vandy had me thinking this morning that perhaps he's like Brewster 2.5. He gets the extra 0.5 for leaving at the right time. Am I a moron? Don't answer that last part.

I think it's the exact opposite. He inherited a trainwreck and went 24-15. The fact that Vandy returned to dumpster fire status once he left just validates how good of a coach he is.

Cool, I can see that. I honestly know very little about him beyond the fact that he's supposed to be God's gift to recruiting, a la Brew crew. If he's a great coach on top of that, more power to him. I as just thinking that one would expect better results at Vandy considering all the amazing talent he supposedly left. But you're right -- maybe he was that good.

He currently has the best recruiting class in the Big Ten/seventh best in the country according to 247sports

Oh, and btw, this looks like a pretty fun game to be at. I honestly didn't expect Rutgers to bring much to the B1G, but they've been a pleasant surprise.

Can't be a B1G game. We don't play either team.

It's as much of a Big Ten game as Minnesota vs. Indiana is.

Wow. Really impressed with Rutgers atmosphere. Looks like a lot of fun.

Penn State is gonna rise from the ashes under Fraklin. Not only can the dude recruit, he's also a good coach.

Yeah wrt what's happening at Vanderbilt, I think it has a lot less to do with what Franklin left, but more to do with Vandy making a terrible hire. It reminds me of when Southern Miss hired Ellis Johnson (great DC but first time head coach) to replace Larry Fedora (great offensive minded head coach). It was just the wrong hire for the program.
