Is Homecoming a big deal in college football anymore?

It seems like Homecoming isn't what it used to be. In theory, today's game would have been an appropriate "homecoming" since we hadn't played at home in a few weeks. There will be a few floats, the alumni association will try to do something around it, etc. but it seems more of a tradition most schools do, but it isn't nearly as big of a deal as it used to be.
 

It sometimes used to be a welcome home to a football team that had been on the road. Mostly it's a tradition to bring back alumni. I'm not sure how old you are, but nothing is as good as it used to be, just ask anyone, especially people older than you.

I'm finding fewer and fewer of them as the years go by.:cry:
