...

What? I thought this was the thread where we put things that have nothing to do with Gopher football.

Having responded with that snarky message, do you feel better? If you don't, maybe it's because you forgot to react similarly to several threads on this board which have less to do with gopher football than even this marginally related thread.

Chill out, my friend. Thought a cool vid of a player (who might see the field in Mpls this year) would be a nice thing to wake up to on a dreary Wednesday morning. Also posted it so that our Iowa lurkers can forward it to their boards and share in the fun.

It probably would've been better received if he had chosen to play for one of nine other schools in the conference.

i don't care if he sees the field.

first of all, why would you want to draw iowa fans in and help them with something, and secondly i'm sure they've already seen this. since he's their recruit and all.

Iowa people are people too. Even if they are ugly, ignorant, inbred hicks. People nonetheless.

I'm not gonna sit and be overly bitter about Iowa's existence in this world.

Also, if anyone needs help, it's Iowa fans---especially with that fancy internet thing the townsfolk use. And i'm not a complete jerk, so I thought they might enjoy something like this.

I'm not sure they have seen this because I dont visit Iowa boards. My own IQ is dropping just thinking about a conversation between two or more Iowans.

Iowa is beneath us (fact). Why don't you act like it, bassy?

Not being bitter is good. As a Minnesotan who has lived and worked in Iowa and later seen a daughter receive a tremendous education from Drake U, there is one thing that is certain: They aren't the hicks some Minnesotans make themselves out to be.

I thought it was an interesting video and am glad MrGopher posted it. I like to have a friendly rivalry with Iowa and Wisconsin, but I respect them as people. I have many friends from IA and WI and now that I've moved to a couple of other states I see how petty Minnesotans (along with Iowans and Sconnies) can be.

I don't know why people are giving you a hard time McGopher. Well aside from Dpodoll - he's actually Adam Weber. He gets pissed when you talk about Iowa.

But thanks for the video regardless.

I wouldn't go that far. I would say about 20% of them are somewhat normal. :D

Lickliters Kids future is better suited to play miniature golf instead of varsity Hogeye Hoops.

what a breathe of fresh air guys. Thanks for that. MrGopher, many gophers wonder why Iowa fans act out so much when they go up to Minneapolis. It has a lot to do with the petty behavior you have just exhibited. Got to love the broad stereotype you represent:rolleyes:. CJ Fed may see the field when the hawkeyes play the gophers this year. He was probably our biggest recruit this past year. He is a monster. 6'7 240 4.5 speed.

FWIW MRGopher, My father is a CPA, my grandfather worked at Rockwell Collins as a engineer working for our Armed Forces/Space Program, My uncle is a VP at an international company(works in iowa... not in agriculture), and I will be graduating with a Finance degree in May. What does your family do?:pig:

:) :) I know you are mostly kidding with this, but before this explodes into endless rhetoric about what constitutes a stereotype and how Minnesotans are horrible for upholding the one that Iowa is filled with the inbred, uneducated, hicks--as I described above. Upholding such stereotypes is all in good fun and common practice on message boards such as this.

Turns out there exists example of highly educated, financially successful Iowans---including your very distinguished relatives. Nobody is shocked. But exceptions prove the rule. Keep that in mind, then judge for yourself. ;)

Turns out there are assholes in Minnesota (not saying I'm not one of them). Turns out there are non-blondes, non-scandinavian, and people who don't talk like the ladycop from Fargo. Nobody is shocked. But exceptions prove the rule. Keep that in mind, then judge for yourself. ;)

Congrats on your degree, Herky. I am sure you will make your (already successful) family quite proud. And enjoy Fiedorowicz, he's a good kid.

No worries. Native iowans are very prideful of our community. We know what we have and what we do not have. Its not the center of attention, we get that. We love what we have and cherish it. Might even get defensive about it.

As for exceptions to the rules, I dont see how you cannot disprove the rule all together when looking how progressive Iowa is. They were the main force behind backing a black male for office(it hasnt gone so well so far, but it was some progress culturally) and being one of the first to stand up for gay marriage. It has a history of equal educational rights for women and minorites years before other states followed. It annually has some of the best school systems in the country as well as some of the highest test scores. It has low crime rates. In fact, it was recently named the #5 happiest state in the US(minnesota was #4) based off a composite index of polls. Yes there may be some crazy country folk but every state has their rednecks. Regardless if they look a little "rural", your mother always said to never judge a book by the cover. If you did, you would never know how progressive and forward thinking iowa actually is;)

I was wondering how Rashede Hageman was progressing?
