Luck finally runs out in the fourth quarter. Hope OSU kills them.
Way to go Northwestern!

What "luck?" Iowa has lost 4 of 5 games decided by a touchdown or less going back to last season. The last 9 Iowa losses going back through 2008 have been by a combined 34 points. Yes, Iowa won some close games last year and the ball bounced their way a few times but the Hawks have lost more close games in the last 4 seasons than they have won.

FYI

Unless you want to see Wisky in the Rose Bowl, you should be cheering for Iowa to beat tOSU. Wisky goes if there's a three-way tie.

Wisky will not be playing in the Rose Bowl they have a higher BCS ranking then Ohio State. The Rose Bowl picks last this year, assuming that two B10 teams get to BCS bowls, Wisky goes first. In a three way tie MSU gets left out. The only way Wisky goes to to the Rose Bowl is if Ohio State jumps them in the poll. With the loss to Northwestern, Iowa is suspect, as long as Ohio State doesn't blow them out there is little upside potential, for OSU. The ideal situation, is for Ohio State to beat Iowa narrowly, while physically beating them up.

You may want to take a quick refresher course on how the BCS works. The Big Ten champ automatically goes to the Rose Bowl. There is no "draft order" on the automatics (unless the Big Ten champ qualifies for the National Title game). If it is a two-way tie between OSU/WIS then WIS is automatically in Rose Bowl. If it is a three-way tie between MSU/OSU/WIS then Wis almost certainly will go to the Rose Bowl as the likely top ranked BCS team. If it is a two-way tie between MSU/WIS, then MSU goes to the Rose Bowl. Wisconsin wants OSU to beat IA next week.

Would be funny if Michigan pulls a shocker on the Badgers. I'm pulling for Sparty for the Rose Bowl. Too bad NW's QB got hurt.

Yes I will be a ioweeeee fan this week. MSU win out and then MSU goes to the Rose Bowl.

Congrats on the victory Gophers! Hopefully that is something to build on.Why not a senior day victory also? Here is how it will all play out. Karma will bite Wisky for the coaches decision to run up the points on Indiana. No love lost here. Sparty being, well Sparty, will drop the finale to the Nits as they want to finish strong for Joe-pa. That leaves tOSU to win out and represent the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl and start the drive to a national championship next year. People, there is NOTHING like having the Buckeyes play in the Rose Bowl while contemplating the upcoming year in the company of friends and loved ones.:)

Personally, I'm sick of Ohio State; I want to see Michigan State win out and go to the Rose Bowl as opposed to seeing Ohio State go to the big game for the umpteenth time.

Indiana should have beaten the pigs last week as well.

If OSU destroys Iowa, there's a chance they are unranked this time next week. That is satisfying.

Every point Ohio State beats Iowa by is 1 thousand fewer Iowa fans in TCF bank stadium.

I guess it just depends how you define close games. Last season, Iowa had just two games where the difference was more than two scores. They seem to be a team that plays up or down to their opponent most of the time.

This is like Spring Break for them.

No, tikited. It's nothing like spring break.

Spring Break is where you go off to some place much more beautiful than your own home, gawk at all the more attractive people who live there, spend a lot of money, get totally wasted, and proceed to have irresponsible illegal drunken trysts with total strangers. And as you make your way back home, hungover, you realize that you probably have only contributed to the putrid local reputation of the people where you come from.

I take it back, tikited. You were spot on.

They will still travel well, but their recent missteps will keep many of them home. Couple that with the early snowstorm and there's no way that they risk losing one of their horses on the long buggy ride up north.

Wrong. They would show even the Hawks were 2-9. This is like Spring Break for them.

They will travel well, but you have to admit, in years when they are mediocre the crowds have been much smaller than years that they were competing for Big Ten titles. They had fewer fans in the stands in 07 than they did when they were clinching the Big Ten Title in 02-03.
