Iowa this year might be worse than Indiana last year

Yup, they're bad.

My only worry is that sometimes teams like this bond together and become much better than they should be...they do look terrible though
 

Watched the game on ESPNU. It was downright ugly. Physically, Iowa just doesn't look like a Big Ten team. They are definitely going to get bullied by teams when conference play starts up.
 



I would definitely agree that they will be worse than IU was last year. Every other team in the conference has gotten better or stayed basically the same and Iows is clearly worse.

So, they may eventually be good enough to lose by single digits to UTSA?
 

I watched the entire Iowa game and, yes, they are going to be bad. They are the most one-dimensional squad I have ever seen. Their first, second and third options are to shoot from downtown. If that doesn't work, send the ball low to a below-average 6-8 post player with C+ moves. Tod Lick is trying to win in the Big 10 with 3-star talent across the board — it's just not going to happen. I will say this though: If Iowa gets hot, they can contend with any team in the league. I just don't see that happening.

Should be easy to get tix to the Gophers game down here on January 2nd. How about we flood IA City with Gopher fans that weekend?

I am in and will be taking I-35 south to Hawgeye Express east to Iowa City. It's a Saturday game and no reason why we couldn't have 7-8k in attendance for this game - after all, plenty of tickets are available.
 





With Iowa being bad and it being Christmas break, I would think tickets to that game would be easy to come by even that day.
 

We're arranging to have a car full or two of guys make the trip from Mpls to Iowa City for this game.

The one downside to being over Christmas break is that I doubt the Barnyard will make it their annual road trip with so many kids being gone. A couple hundred student fans bussed in from the north would be close to going person-to-person with the Iowa student section.
 

I will be there and bringing along a few other Gopher fans (though it is only an hour and half drive for me).

That is a great idea. I've never done the (basketball) away game thing.

It should happen to everyone once in a while.

Lord knows we have suffered in the past.

I'm talking to several of my buddies up there in Minnesota who pretty much said the same thing. They never thought of it, but think it would be fun. Should be an easy roadtrip with it being Saturday afternoon. Most people have Friday off as well since it is New Year's Day. Hopefully I can convince them to come day for a day or two.
