Iowa Reverses Player Social Media Policy

Last week it came out that Iowa was rolling out a social media policy that said that players were allowed ONE PRE APPROVED TWEET PER MONTH.

Apparently reality hit and Iowa chose to walk back that policy:



No idea whose idea it was to have that kind of policy or how it might look but that seems pretty par for the course for the Iowa athletic department to dork that up.

gotta think this is just a start. Based on all the former player comments - I'm guessing there will be a lot more changes on the way.

Not a huge fan of social media in general but a full twitter ban seems pretty harsh in this day and age. And the idea of "loosening" it to one pre-approved tweet a month seems pretty lame as well.

I'm sure none of the current players have un-official twitter accounts that the coaches aren't aware of.
