Iowa Picks up Former TG transfer from Miami

He's not that good, inconsistent motor, if you hate Betts you would really hate this guy. Guessing he wasn't playing at Miami. Bit of a tweener but Fran doesn't care about defense it might actually work for him there.

He had a 30 day window to enter the Portal after the Miami coach quit.

Iowa was always his favorite out of HS but Miami paid more.

Go Gophers!!

LOL.

If you think a 4 star, a local one at that, wouldn't fit on this roster you're dumber than Johnson.

Definitely not a four star. I'm sure 4-10 Miami will miss his four points, four boards and two assists. Those are totals not per game just FYI. Can ask you something does it hurt being so stupid? Is your name USAF because you were to much of a beta to serve in a real military branch?

Read the OP, numbnuts.

"The former 4☆..."

I assume you scored too poorly on the ASVAB for the USAF.

Is he better than what we have now?

I remember the guy had a big game in the state tournament. was clearly the most athletic player on the floor.

found a write-up on him coming out of HS on 247:

While currently listed as a small forward by 247Sports, Johnson-Arigu is probably more of a combo forward right now. He's likely most comfortable as a small ball four right now because of his preference for driving the ball, his nose for the ball on the offensive glass and him being much more comfortable as a jump shooter from 17 feet and in. To make a full time move out to the wing, he is going to need to improve his range and ball handling. During the last summer, he made just six of his 34 (17.6%) attempts from beyond the three point line according to Synergy.

Defensively is where Johnson-Arigu really has a chance to shine early on during his college years. He is instinctual when it comes to getting into passing lanes and causing deflections, his lateral quickness allows him to stay in front of opponents and most importantly he is a versatile defender who is capable of switching one through four.

This little tiff reminds me of the discussion of MN native, Eli King, who entered the portal after barely playing with Iowa State his freshman year. A lot of folks on this board were confident that if he would just sign with MN, he'd be good. He ended up at UND - he plays a lot of minutes, but like the 5th best player on a sub-.500 Summit League school.

Too many people fall for "the one of us" thing

For all the kids in the audience the ASVAB or the Ass hat test as the officers call it is a basic aptitude test, similar to the basic skills test second and fifth graders take. Fun fact the Air Force has the lowest passing score of all the branches at 31 percent. So nice humble brag USAF.

A top 5 player on a summit league team might help this Gopher team 🤣

I remember they made us take it in our high school. I must have had a fairly high score because I had every swinging D recruiter calling me weekly for about 7 to 8 months.

One of the kids at the bottom of my class had to take the thing four or five times to qualify for Army grunt duty. And to think they probably gave him a loaded weapon at some point..........

Heh.
Confirmed.
You ARE a moron.

Back on ignore.
Guessing the verbal section is what dragged your score down? Really not that hard to look up all this information. I'd take my ball.and go home too if I were you lol. Do you need help putting me on ignore?

Honestly I think if you score under 30 you're legally mentally retarded. Not sure USAF got in

One memory I had from taking that exam was the very first question. It had a picture of a hand saw, screwdriver, hammer and wrench. The question was somewhere along the lines, "Which of these tools would you use to tighten a nut?" I remember thinking "you've got to be f'n kidding me right now". :ROFLMAO: Needless to say, I don't remember that test being very stressful.

Obviously you answered hammer! 🤣

He is an athletic frontcourt player that Iowa desperately needs. He led TG in scoring, reb, assists, and blocks. He is not a 3pt shooter. Weakest part of his game. He gave McAndrews more than he could handle in one game I saw for reference.
