Of the 5 schools that sent the most players to the combine this yr (UNC, Iowa, Miami, Neb & OhioSt) only one (OSU) made a BCS bowl.

I wonder why this is. I know that Mason had guys get to the next level, but could not put it together.

Is it psychological? When teams with kids that know they are going to get to the next level lose and know they are not going to make a National Championship game, do they lose focus and hang their heads?

It is interesting how teams like Maryland ane UNC put guys in the NFL but can't win big in College.

I don't have an answer to your question as to why teams with high individual talent levels don't always have the best W-L numbers, but this is the main reason that football is my favorite sport. It is the ultimate team sport where the whole is so much greater than the sum of its parts. I just hope that Coach Kill can work his "do more with less" magic here at the U and get us to a point where he can "do more with more".

I don't know if Kill is going to have to "do more with less." He seems to be impressing everyone here and the offers he is putting out nationally are nothing to be ashamed of. We'll see how year one goes and how that equates to future recruiting.

If a lot of that talent is concentrated on one side of the ball than you may not always have a stellar win loss record.
