Gopher received 2 votes in the AP - good for 33rd. Received 4 votes in the Coaches - good for 34th.

Interesting given that we lost two in a row and were on the fringe before. Maybe it shows how well we played wisconsin and MSU.

We played great defense in both games, and offensively for as bad as we played, we were still in positions to make runs in both. Previous years we get run out of the stadiums in both those games. Take away our turnovers inside the red zones and this could be a whole different storyline.

Other getting votes from Coaches:

Miami (Fla.) 47; Georgia 41; Vanderbilt 18; Iowa 13; Marshall 13; Southern California 10; Washington 6; Virginia Tech 4; Minnesota 4; Notre Dame 3; Ball State 1.

From A.P. writers:

Others Receiving Votes: Cincinnati (9-2) 45; Southern California (9-4) 28; Miami (Fla.) (9-3) 26; Notre Dame (8-4) 26; Iowa (8-4) 23; Vanderbilt (8-4) 16; Washington (8-4) 6; Minnesota (8-4) 2; North Dakota State (11-0) 1

so if we win our bowl game we probably would be ranked for the final polls and with all of the returning talent we would start the season off ranked for next year

There's some respect there. I like it.

The last two weeks showed that you might beat us, but we will break your nose.

Kinda of neat that North Dakota got one vote.

Gophers getting some top 25 votes despite two losses in a row

They are getting a rep for being tough...wonderful to see this.
