In conference play, the Gophers' turnover rate is 12.4%, the lowest rate for any BIG team in conference play in the history of advanced stats for WBB (since 2009-10). The low turnover rate has helped produce an Assist-to-Turnover Ratio of 1.54, which is top 6 in BIG conference games since 2009-10:

The Gophers' turnover rate is also the key to their improved offense, since the Gophers haven't made great progress in becoming a better shooting team, which was one of Coach P's stated goals for the season. In conference play, the Gophers are 14th in the league in effective field goal percentage at 47.7%, which isn't very good. But the Gophers are tied for 4th in the league in conference play with points per play of .90 (a play is a shot, ft attempt or turnover), which is good. The key is not turning the ball over.

Amaya Battle is a big part of the turnover improvement. In conference play, her turnover rate was 20.9% last year (89th in the BIG), but her turnover rate this year in conference play is 12.2% (30th in the BIG).
