I have a bad feeling about the Indiana game. The Hoosiers, though not as experienced as the Gophers, have proven they can beat anyone (Pitt). However, they've also proven they can lose to anyone (Boston University). These types of teams scare me. All it takes is a little spark on their home floor and you have a fire. The Gophers are coming off a tough loss to Michigan State and could possibly be looking past Indiana to their next game at home against the Spartans on Jan. 23. If Minnesota loses this game, it will be staring 3-4 right in the face (if it loses at home against Michigan State). The secret is out about Hoffarber, so I don't think you'll see him bail the Gophers out with anymore 25-point outings. Minnesota doesn't have the talent to simply show up on the road and beat the Hoosiers.
With all that said, I think Minnesota's defense will be too much for Indiana to handle. The only thing that will stop the Gophers from winning is the Gophers. Focus is the key. Minnesota needs to secure wins on the road against the lower half of the conference, especially since Indiana has the worst overall team defense in the league. The Hoosiers also boast the worst free throw percentage and the worst defensive rebounding average.
As we all know, Minnesota has very little margin for error.
