We're currently in the "next 4 out" in bracketology...

Does beating MSU get us a bid?

I think: MAYBE

if there continues to be no surprises and bubble teams keep getting knocked off like they have been....i think we are good to go

Yes. I believe we're in with a win.

Weakest bubble in 20 years (and all the other bubble teams keep losing), 4 quality top 15 wins (OSU, MSU, Butler, Wisconsin), .500 in the conference, 20-13 overall (if we lose in the next round), won 6 of our last 9, RPI in the low 60's...I think we're in if we win tomorrow.

I would have to say if ASU were to lose tonight yes! If the Illini lose tomorrow also and we win I'd say yes! If ASU were to lose tonight, then the Illini and us were to lose, I'd still think we'd have a 70 percent chance of getting in.

Agreed. If we beat MSU, I think we got a great chance no matter what happens in other games.

Beating MSU won't be enough. We would need at least one more win after that. Our RPI is bad and the projections don't account for tourney upsets, which typically result in a few teams not projected to get bids snagging automatic bids. Without a single upset entrant, we'd still likely be tossed based on poor RPI unless several teams in front of us lay eggs.

Fish, you are counting RPI way way way way too much into the deciding factor. A win over MSU, and we would without a doubt have the 5 best wins out of all the bubble teams. And the projections don't account for tourney upsets because there aren't many more opportunities for upsets. Most of the "possible upsets" have already passed by. Conference USA could be one if UTEP doesn't win. Utah State in the WAC also. But they look unbeatable right now.

Bracketography, who has consistently beat out Lunardi, Palm, etc. in the past 5 years as the top Bracketologist based on its predictions, has us as one of their final 4 in.

If we win tomorrow, I think there is a 90% shot that we're in.

I still think we have to win the big ten tourney, winning tomorrow is not enough to get us in or winning on Saturday.

Win the Big Ten Tourney or say hello to the NIT.

You willing to bet any $ on that?

When looking at the Bubble analysis...how do you possibly reach that conclusion?

If we beat MSU, AND if we beat Purdue, yet lose in the Big 10 Tourney title game you STILL think we're out?!?!

If we make it to the championship and lose, I will bet you any amount of money in the world that we are in.

If we Beat MSU and then beat Purdue, we are 90% in, but we not in by just beatting MSU tomorrow. sorry man.

Give me a break. Certainly, winning tomorrow may not be enough. But if we beat MSU AND Purdue, given all of the bubble teams that have already lost, we are 95% in. I think we are 50/50 if we win tomorrow. Should we end up against NW in the semis, I'd drop that 95% to 70%.

So now you're changing your tune?

You said that unless we win the Big 10 tourney we're in the NIT...now you think that if we beat MSU and Purdue we're 90% in? That's quite a change in 3 minutes?

Which is it?

I don't know what percentage to give it, but if we beat Michigan State I will feel pretty good about our chances. Purdue would just be insurance IMO. For the sake of not being nervous on Selection Sunday though, let's beat Purdue too.

We are IN if we beat Michigan State barring some crazy happenings in the other conference tourneys.

Though if you look elsewhere on this board, the gophers need to make the Big Ten Final to even be on the bubble. They have to win it to be in.

I don't know who quoted this first, but now the bubble is wide open...anyone who plays well that's on the bubble will get in from now on...lots of teams have already fallen...If minnesota advanced to the semi finals they're a lock.

VERY weak bubble. Two of the "last four in" teams lost today. Nobody ahead of us won a "Signature" game since the tournaments started. We should jump in with a win over MSU. This is assuming that a few other bubble teams don't net some impressive wins also.
