I have been very critical of Westbrooks play this year and his selfish behavior. Last night I came away very impressed. He played the type of game we need from him. He did not force any bad shots and played pretty well on the defensive end. You could see a couple of times where he did the "Icky shuffle" and you thought he was back in the mode of making the decision to shoot when he came down the floor. He pulled back several times when the shots weren't there. Also, very impressed with our posts looking for the shot, but also looking inside for others cutting to the hoop. A dynamic we haven't seen all year. Obviously, the guys are playing like a team and you can see that we have the talent to play really well when we stay disciplined and everyone does there part. I was feeling very low on the team last week, but they seem to finally get it. If we play like this, we have a chance to run the table in the regular season. There will not be any easy wins (except Iowa), but we look like a team that others will not look forward to Play. Huge game on Wednesday. Can't wait!!

Absolutely, he had a nice come back game. If he makes that first shot, he has a good night.

The catch and shoot three was a thing of beauty.

He had an extra step on defense last night. He got lost a couple of times but hussled to get back in position when it happened, I thought he did a good job against Verdell Jones in the first half. Hopefully he can keep this intensity up. If he can do the same job with Perdue's Moore the Gophers have a good chance.

I only saw the last half of the game last night, but the coaches might, might just finally having him looking at what's developing on the floor as opposed to thinking about what he has planned for himself - regardless of how effective that might be. I like that fact that he usually has a plan for himself, but obviously it works better for the team if he thinks and acts on what is achievable for the team at any given time.

BUMP - for Westy and all the negative threads he has had lately.

Westbrook, Lawrence FG 6-9 / 3FG 4-6 / FT 4-4 / REB / 4 PF 2 / PTS 20 / A 4 / TO 0 / ST 1 / MIN 26

Very nice assists to go along with 0 Turnovers.

That's a great stat line. I've been somewhat critical of Westbrook, but if he can keep playing like that and the team as a whole plays with as much chemistry and passion that they have played with the last two games, the Gophers will be very difficult to beat.

Very impressed with the 0 turnovers. When its time to shoot the ball I'll take him every time. But ball handling has been a minus. Westbrook is our shooter. When he's on he's the hero. When he's off they call him selfish. We are going to miss him next year.

one good game...I want to see him take it too purdue and Illinois...then he'll be out of my dog house.

i just think its funny that we, myself included, were looking elsewhere in the giant blamegame that was earlier this season, when it seems this was the kink in the armor so to speak.

also, any correlation to winning last year and this year with the twin towers lineup that he eschewed to start this year? id think so..we win when we rebound

The Indiana game was his best game of the year IMO. All his points came within the offense, even when he scored off the bounce. Plus his coast to coast with the dish to RSIII was the best play I've seen him make to create for someone else. LW is a very good spot up shooter and good off of decisive drives. He's not so good when he tries to square up and beat his man off the bounce

I thought the Indiana game may have been his best ever game. I'd love to see Westbrook play like the rest of the season.

The catch and shoot three was a thing of beauty.

I recall a three he hit in the first half from the corner. The pass was so far off he had to lunge and one hand it, within in a second of his feet landing he was already putting up the shot. It was quite impressive.

It was a nice shot, however, as he set up to shoot it, I said:

"No, no, no. No! No! No!.....YES!!!!!!"
