Ben Johnson is in charge of the basketball team he always wanted. I doubt this is what he had in mind.
Patchwork roster, with arguably the two most talented players going down with knee injuries. No center or big man of any significance. Right now it looks like the Gophers will be relying on Curry to play center and his mobility is severely limited.
Lots of built in excuses for a bad season and for difficulties in recruiting.
Here’s hoping BJ can keep his spirits up, soldier on, and teach some solid basketball fundamentals to establish the team’s identity and give him something to work with in the future.
Best of luck coach. Keep your head up. It’s going to be a rough ride and Jimmy Chitwood ain’t walking in through the gates to suit up.
